Independent Property Group can proudly trace its history back to August 1958, when RO Wellsmore opened its doors in Manuka.
In the mid-seventies, R.O. Wellsmore joined with another locally established agency, Reg Daly Real Estate, where they steadily grew to become Canberra's leading combined agency. In 1990, Independent came into life with a distinctive 'links' logo. RO Wellsmore became RO Wellsmore Independent, Reg Daly became Reg Daly Independent and a third entity became Federation Independent.
As their success grew, so did the strength of the Independent brand. So much so, that in 2000 the decision was made to drop the separate entity names and trade under just one. Independent Property Group as it is today was born.
Throughout its life, Independent has continually sought to improve and innovate the marketing of established homes. Client relations, on-going career training, advanced marketing and residential developments are all areas Independent has led the market in.
The Independent brand has now grown to include more than 150 people in sales, property management, body corporate and administrative roles and continues to be an employer of choice. Its focus of employee recognition and development and its award winning training attracts some of the best talent in real estate and this has been played a huge part in Independent's success over the past 50 years.
